In Second UK Trailer For The Color Purple Musical “We’ll Meet Again”

Sisters will meet again in the second UK Trailer for The Color Purple. Warner Bros Pictures have released this promo for big screen adaptation for stage version of Steven Spielberg‘s classic 1985 film.

When this became a musical it surprised many, as time tells this became a instant hit in Broadway and London’s West End. Now Ghanian musician filmmaker Blitz Bazawule brings his vision of the film to the screen. If we go by the reaction of the first trailer and the new one, this will follow the same success.

The film tells the story of three African American women who share one unbreakable bond of sisterhood. One of trying to find their identity while subjected to abuse from her step father, husband.

Will it be in the running for Oscars or BAFTA’s? Of the film is critically well received I wouldn’t be surprised if it will be in the running …

This musical version of The Colour Purple (or The Color Purple), follows the story and struggles of an African American woman (Barrino). Suffering life long abuse from her step father, husband and many others living in the Deep South of America. It’s also a story of the extraordinary sisterhood of three women who share one unbreakable bond and one sister trying to find her identity.

The film stars Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, with Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Fantasia Barrino.

The Color Purple will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 26th January 2024. If you live in the U.S you can watch the film on Christmas Day, 25th December.
