When the first trailer for Hellboy reboot arrived online in December, it received a mixed reception. how different will be from Del Toro’s version, seeing David Harbour as big red. Their was concerns about how violent it may be, today Lionsgate may have just answered that question with the film’s Second Trailer.
If there was any doubts, the latest promo promise it will be violent. That brutal their will be blood, Big Red is ready to give evil hell! Teasing the origins of Hellboy and many of the monsters and the film’s main villain Nimue the Blood Queen (Milla Jovovich) getting a chance to shine.
Anyone who has read Mike Mignolia‘s classic comic book, know his book wasn’t made for kids but older teen upwards. 12A rating would be an insult and hopefully should be at least a 15 rating. Neil Marshall directed Dog Soldiers and The Descent both violent but also gave room for humour, which Hellboy has both.
Amazingly we’re only 5 weeks away from the release and I do hope when this is out we judge it as a Neil Marshall film rather than compare to Del Toro’s film. Both different styles of film makers…

Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. Hellboy also features Ian McShane (John Wick), Daniel Dae Kim (“Hawaii Five-0” and “Lost”), and Sasha Lane (American Honey).
The film set to arrive in UK and Irish cinemas from 11th April 2019 (USA is still 12th April).
