After a decent run on the festival circuit with no official footage to promote the film with Sony set to release the film this March in UK the official first look has finally arrived. On first evidence The Zero Theorem is that love child to Brazil commenting how Gilliam sees the world like he did nearly 30 years ago, the world is unhinged, surreal, a total madhouse. Cinehouse’s Ian Schultz watched the film said the film is similar but in a smaller scale [read review] with technology not fascism no the oppressor.
It looks colorful, outrageous, head scratching, surreal all the ingredients that make up a Terry Gilliam movie and 14th March the film arrives in UK but next month 27th & 28th February The Zero Theorem makes one last festival appearence at Glasgow Film Festival. The film stars Christoph Waltz,David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry, Lucas Hedges, Ben Whishaw, Peter Stormare, Matt Damon and Tilda Swinton.
Synopsis
An eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence – or the lack thereof -once and for all. However, it is only once he experiences the power of love and desire that he is able to understand his very reason for being.
