From Gamer To Racer Watch Gran Turismo First Trailer!

Sony Pictures have released the first UK Trailer for Neil Blomkamp‘s Gran Turismo. From gamer to racer the film adaptation of the popular video game, will it be a winning video game adaptation?

This is one story that is actually based on a true story. A story of a young man Jann Mardenborough (Archie Madekwe) a great video gamer who dreams of become a Gran Turismo racer. Using those gaming skills he will live his dream and drive the real GTA race in Japan.

You could say this feels a little cliched but visually pretty awesome too. It could be seen as a coming of age story as much it’s a game adaptation. The released synopsis is very basic leaves you thinking they’ll be more to this story than we’ve been told. Has this trailer possibly gave a bit too of story away? Regardless this actually looks not bad…

Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the film is the ultimate wish fulfilment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional racecar driver.

Gran Turismo will be released on 11th August in the UK and Irish cinemas. The film also stars Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, Darren Barnet, Thomas Kretschmann, Djimon Hounsou, and Geri Halliwell.
