Ben Wheatley's Bulk debuts at EIFF2025

Rook Films has released the first trailer for Ben Wheatley’s new film, Bulk, which you can watch below!

Ben Wheatleyโ€™s BULK will world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 14thย as the opening night film for the midnight madness strand, followed by additional screenings on the 15th. There is also a special preview screening at Pictureville cinema in Bradford on August 16th as part of the Film4 season. Ben Wheatley, producer Andy Starke and some of the cast will attend all the screenings. Ticket links and additional information below.

BULK is written, directed and edited by Ben Wheatley and stars Alexandra Maria Lara (as Aclima), Sam Riley (as Corey Harlan), and Noah Taylor (as Karl Sessler et el), and Mark Monero (as Anton Chambers). The film is produced by Andy Starke and backed by Film4, with executive producersย David Kimbangi and Ollie Madden. The director of photography is Nick Gillespie with music by Dave Welder.

Official Synopsis:

When an overzealous scientist pushes his experiments with string theory too far-his brane explodes. Thatโ€™s โ€œbraneโ€ not โ€œbrainโ€-but that means someone has to sort out the mess he has created. Our hero Corey Harlan is sent in, kicking and screaming, to find the heart of the brane and its creator, Anton Chambers. Now manifested as a normal townhouse hosted by the enigmatic and multi-dimensional Aclima โ€“his adventure begins. A house where opening a door from one room to another can lead you to other worlds not just the kitchen.
