Elizabeth Olsen Knows “Nothing” About Scarlet Witch’s Future
Will the Scarlet Witch appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars? Fans have been speculating about a possible return to the MCU, but WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen says she knows “nothing” about the future of her character.
Deadline reports that during an appearance at the 2026 C2E2 convention, Olsen was asked what she knew about Doomsday.
She answered with, โI know nothing… I know about VisionQuest because Iโve seen Paul [Bettany] in the last six months, and I know nothing about any of it.โ
When asked about Secret Wars, Olsen then said, โIs that what happens after this day? Iโm not kidding.โ
Marvel often takes extreme measures to prevent projects from being spoiled, which means actors are known to have lied about their involvement in the MCU. However, Olsen insisted she was telling the truth, adding, โI donโt know whatโs going on. Itโs safer for me to not know anything because then I canโt make a mistake in a situation like this. I rather know nothing.โ
That being said, it’s hard to tell what the future will hold for the Scarlet Witch.
The last time we saw her on screen was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when she seemingly died by sacrificing herself to destroy all copies of the Darkhold across the Multiverse. But as fans know, character deaths in the MCU are often not permanent, which is why rumours persist of Olsen’s appearance in the upcoming Avengersย films.
What we do know for sure is that Avengers: Doomsday will feature a massive ensemble cast bringing the Avengers together with the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thunderbolts, and Wakandans. The film will also see the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, not as Iron Man but rather Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom.
Other actors confirmed to appear include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Letitia Wright (Shuri/Black Panther), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/U.S. Agent), Tenoch Huerta Mejia (Namor), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/Thing), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Kelsey Grammer (Hank McCoy/Beast), Lewis Pullman (Sentry), Danny Ramirez (Joaquรญn Torres/Falcon), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Winston Duke (MโBaku), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), Channing Tatum (Gambit), Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), and Chris Evans (Steve Rogers).
Four-time Marvel veterans Joe and Anthony Russo are directing, with Stephen McFeely (Avengers: Endgame) and Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) handling the script. The film’s plot is being kept under wraps.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in UK cinemas on December 18th, with Avengers: Secret Wars currently scheduled to release on December 17th, 2027.
