After battling mutated crocs, flying foxes, and giant apes, Dwayne Johnson next week will be back on our cinema screens again. This time gigantic buildings in China, clearing his name after been framed. Universal Pictures has released one final promo as the film enters the final week of marketing.
The new promo feels more like an extended action scene, which our hero takes a ‘leap of faith’. A scene that teases that the film may be inspired more than Die Hard. Throw in some Steve McQueen and Towering Inferno when he must jump through a window, as the building is in flames.
There’s no running away from it Skyscraper will be dominated by CGI action scenes, hopefully, it won’t overpower the actual storyline. Then again this one looks like it will be all about the action, so pick your favourite cinema snacks and enjoy the ride!
Global icon Dwayne Johnson leads the cast of Legendary’s Skyscraper as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Sawyer, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building…above the fire line

Skyscraper will arrive in UK and Irish Cinemas from Thursday 12th July. The film co-stars Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Noah Taylor, Roland Møller, Byron Mann, Pablo Schreiber, and Hannah Quinlivan. Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, We’re the Millers).
