Daniel Craig Passes On Role In The Batman: Part II As Harvey Dent’s Father

Daniel Craig not in The Batman Part II

Matt Reeves’ much-anticipated The Batman: Part II is to begin production at the end of May. With the shoot date soon approaching, most of the film has been cast, but the outstanding mystery is who will be playing the role of Christopher Dent, the fictional father of supervillain Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face.ย

The role was initially offered to Brad Pitt and Stellan Skarsgรฅrd, both of whom passed on the project. It was speculated that 007 himself, Daniel Craig, would portray Dent, but World of Reel reported today that he also turned down the role in the film.ย

While we wonโ€™t see Craig in the Batman universe, the English actor will grace the silver screen in upcoming projects, including Greta Gerwigโ€™s Narnia later this year, and a Damien Chazelle film that is currently untitled. He was last seen as Benoit Blanc for the third time in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Scarlett Johanssonย and Sebastian Stan will be joining the already stacked cast, with Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Barry Keoghan, and Andy Serkis returning to their roles from The Batman. Until then, the search for Christopher Dent continues!

The Batman Part II is set to hit UK theatres on October 1, 2027.ย
