Cage-A-Rama Announces Guest Plus UK Tour!

Next month Matchbox Club will hold their annual Cage-A-Rama. The third ‘love letter’ festival dedicated all things Nicolas Cage. Today the festival announced their guests and the festival will be going on tour!

The Glasgow based festival will deliver another slice of obscurity, cheese, prolifically entertaining. Yes we do know not every film he’s made is bad, he is an Oscar winner after all!

Marco Kyris, who worked with Cage on almost 20 films will be attending the event. He will be joined Lindsay
Gibb, the world-leading Nicolas Cage expert, for an in-conversation. Get the questions in to as he’ll answer those ‘Cage Wage’ era films, with a wee surprise for those fire questions

He has also guest-programmed a special opening night screening of one of his favourite collaborations with
Cage, Brian De Palma’s Snake Eyes, followed by a Q&A.

There will also be a screening of Marco’s film Uncaged: A Stand-in Story on Saturday 4th January. He will also introduce several of Cage-a-rama 2020’s films across the festival weekend.

Highlights of the festival will be Leaving Las Vegas which Cage won the Academy Award® for Best Actor. Fan-favourite National Treasure films, and Martin Scorsese’s urban horror Bringing Out the Dead. The festival will also close with the UK premiere of brand-new Nicolas Cage film Primal.

The subsequent Cage-a-rama 2020 UK Tour will feature a 35mm screening of Con Air at the Genesis Cinema in London on Thursday 9th January, and a 20th-anniversary screening of Gone in 60 Seconds in collaboration with Bristol Bad Film Club at Bristol Improv Theatre on Saturday 11th January. Both screenings will be accompanied by Marco Kyris’s short film, Uncaged: A Stand-In Story, and a post-screening Q&A.

Cage-A-Rama 2020 is taking place at Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Arts between 3rd and 5th January 2020. Weekend & Day Passes, plus individual tickets can be purchased at Matchbox Club Site.
