Brothers Drift Apart In UK Trailer For Adil and Bilall’s Rebel

Amir El Arbi in Rebel out to own in the UK and Ireland 12th December from Signature Entertainment on Digital Download

Brothers drift apart in a gut punch of a film, in Adil and Bilall‘s Rebel. Today Signature Entertainment have released the UK Trailer for this Syrian thriller, a brother now must fight for his life.

Adil, Bilall may not be well known with Western cinephiles. However they did direct Bad Boys For Life, Ms.Marvel on Disney+ and along with the now shelved Batgirl. Which was filmed around Glasgow, near to The Peoples Movies HQ.

This one stars Aboubakr Bensaihi, Amir El Arbi as the brother Kamal and Nasim. The pair find themselves on different life paths but when Naim learns his brother has been radicalised. He must attempt to rescue him before it’s too late.

Originally premiered at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. This actually looks a solid film, an opportunity to see what other films these filmmakers have made before Hollywood takes over.

This is one gut punch of a thriller. Brothers Kamal (Aboubakr Bensaihi, Black) and Nassim (Amir El Arbi) find themselves on radically different life paths after Kamal leaves to help victims in Syria, leaving Nassim at home to care for their mother Leila (Lubna Azabal, Incendies). However, after discovering Kamal has been radicalised by a local militia, Nassim goes to desperate lengths in the attempt to save his brother and bring him home – without realising he may be on the exact same path of self-destruction as his brother. Directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah (Ms. Marvel, Bad Boys for Life) and co-written by Arbi, Fallah, Kevin Meul (Cadet) and Jan van Dyck (The Nipple Whisperer).

Signature Entertainment will release Rebel in the UK and Ireland on Digital Platforms 12th December.
