A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2020)

Mister Rogers (Tom Hanks) meets journalist Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) in TriStar Pictures’ A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

I hear many you ask “Who is Mr Rogers?“. The legendary American TV Personality may not be well known in the UK, throw Tom Hanks into the equation, you have a fantastic film on the cards.

Today Sony Pictures have released a new second (UK) International Trailer for A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood. The trailer oozes with charm and good old fashioned harmless fun. We also get a little more insight the film’s plot. The true story between Fred Rogers (Hanks) and journalist Tom Junod (Matthew Rhys) who was assigned to write a story about Rogers. What started as an article about scepticism turns into a long friendship.

When it comes to nice people in television or film, Fred Rogers was one of the last nicest people in the industry. In times of political buffonary (Boris Johnson), refreshing treat to the visual pallette. The film we need right now…

Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his scepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbour.

The film also stars Matthew Rhys, Susan Kelechi Watson Enrico, Colatoni,Susan Kelechi Watson,and Chris Cooper.
