The film brings the magial world of Mister Rogers aka Fred Rogers (Hanks). An all singing, all dancing, an American television personality. One that started with scepticism, ended up been a life lesson and start of an long lasting friendship.

I am a kid of the 1970’s and Mr Rogers I’ve never heard off until now. I don’t think his show was ever broadcast in this country. Nonetheless that doesn’t mean this film won’t be any less entertaining. This trailer has a lot of emotion and connecting with your heart. Can You Ever Forgive Me? director Marielle Heller is directing this one. She’s giving this one an empathetic, humanistic touch, embracing the warmth and kindness of it’s lead character.

Are we looking at another potential Oscar nomination? With Tom Hanks in the lead role, anything is possible.

Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his scepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbour.

The film also stars Matthew Rhys, Susan Kelechi Watson Enrico, Colatoni,Susan Kelechi Watson, and Chris Cooper.
