4th November the remake of Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs will hit the UK& Irish cinemas. I’m probably like many cinephiles getting a little bored that virtually most of the ‘new’ films been released are remakes like this movie, some we have great interest others we dont have a care in the world but Straw Dogs is in the middle, mixed reactions however early reports are saying this movie is a cracker. The original movie was steeped in controversy a movie which included an prolonged rape scene but what we’ve seen of the trailer this movie does possess a dark psychological  edge in films such as I spit on your grave, but fingers crossed this movie doesn’t creep into the generic  thriller route.

Straw Dogs 2011 tells the story of David and Amy Sumner (James Marsden and Kate Bosworth), a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie (Alexander Skarsgard), leading to a violent confrontation.

Below are 4 new posters for the movie and in the final poster it pays homage to the original movie created in the style of Peckinpah’s movie.
