David Icke has warned us about the lizard race for decades now, maybe we should have listened to him, however, the Chinese knew best as they built what could be our last line of defence.

2017 looks like a year for the creature features  with the return of King Kong  with Kong:Skull Island only 4 months away. The Great Wall has been in development for several years with the film originally a project for Ed Zwick with Henry Cavill and Benjamin Walker but renowned Chinese Filmmaker Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of The Flying Daggers) now stepped in. Sadly the film has found itself fallen into the ‘Whitewash’ controversy that’s plaguing Hollywood at this moment with a film which has a ‘white hero’ in Chinese based film. Yimou has addressed the issue by stating Damon is  not playing a character originally created for a Chinese actor. But one of the 5 important characters with the other 4 been Chinese actors, making Damon’s inclusion one to attract international audiences.

The Great Wall is based on a book created by Max Brooks (World War Z) and tells the story of 2 foreign men (Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal) travelling through ancient China. The pair finding themselves wrapped up in the country’s battle and the true reason for the wall been built. They are forced to join an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure.

The Great Wall is set to be released 24th February 2017 . The movie also stars Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Hanyu Zhang, Eddie Peng, Lu Han, Kenny Lin, Junkai Wang, Zheng Kai, Cheney Chen, Xuan Huang and Andy Lau.
