We’ve been, progged and poked but today we finally get our first proper look at Marvel’s next hero to join the Netflix Originals Iron Fist gets his first trailer. Last night, Netflix and Marvel’s at New York Comic-Con the last piece of the jigsaw is about to be placed in The Defenders puzzle.
The trailer premiered at their Comic-Con panel when the Defenders themselves, the cast of The Punisher all came together to promote perspective upcoming shows. But the one exciting news was the announcement (& introduction) of the show’s big baddie, Sigourney Weaver!!!

Ripley herself will play the Defenders main villain in an unspecified role which will have fans of the comic book scouring through old issues to try to guess who she may play.Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) from Marvel’s Luke Cage joined Finn Jones (Danny Rand) aka Iron Fist.

And now, Danny Rand is back to fight for what’s his.Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
The short teaser you won’t see Danny in costume though we do get a sniff at the titular hero’s origins which as expected will be the main focus of season one. Also a chance to see Danny become that living fighting machine as he harnesses the powers that turn him into Iron Fist kicking ass with Ninjas. Even an appearance of Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho).
It’s getting busier and more exciting at Netflix, if things are starting to get a little stagnant with the movies, it will be the perfect time to try out Marvels streaming universe. Check out our Luke Cage Season One review.
Iron Fist will arrive internationally all territories including UK&Ireland on 17th March 2017.The series will also star Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
