Not long ago I posted an article saying Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, Fishtank,300) was been chased by Sony Entertainment and 20th Century Fox to play in either Spiderman Reboot or X-Men:First Class been directed by Matthew Vaughn.Deadline and Entertainment Weekly confirm that Fassbender is in negotiations to play Erikย  Lensherr the mutant who better known to us all as Magneto who was played in the first 3 movies by Ian Mckellan.

Showbiz 411 is reporting that Vaughn has found his young actor to play Hank McCoy the beast and its Flag of our Fathers actor Benjamin Walker. Walker may not be a well known actor in UK or Ireland but if your a theatre lover he has played in the long running hit Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson which is still playingย  in Broadway. The beast or Hank McCoy (played by Kelsey Grammer) first appeared on the big screen in X-Men:Last Stand but sadly for some reason despite been one of the major characters wasย  under used in the movie. Showbiz are stating Walker has signed up to be in the movie but they cant say for definite he’ll be playing the beast.

None of the above is 100% confirmed yet so things could change again, only James MacAvoy (Last King Of Scotland, Wanted) has been confirmed to play a young charles Xavier so fingers crossed Fassbender will be Magneto as that’ll be a battle Ill love to see! Last few weeks have been x-men casting crazy as recently Amber Head has been rumoured to play Mystique and Rosamund Pike was originally reported to be playing Emma Frost but according to The Playlist she is line to play Moira McTaggert the love interestto Xavier.

It is an interesting and exciting time in X-Men movie worldย  hopefully all rumours become true and if reports are suggesting that filming may even start as early as August, Matthew Vaughn will have to get his skates on and get his cast confirmed, so do expect some confirmed news hopefully very very soon!
