“It’s A Wrap!” Peter Jackson Wraps Production On THE HOBBIT!

It’s Official The Hobbit has today officially wrapped up production! After 266 days of shooting both parts of The Hobbit have now officially been finished announced by Peter Jackson himself via his favourite place over at his page at Facebook.

We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!

Cheers, Peter J

The Hobbit marks a return to Middle Earth for the director an amazing 10 years since the last time we saw a Hobbit, elf or dwarf on the big screen! Though the actual principal filming has now stopped it doesn’t mean the film is ready, far from it as its probably the toughest part for the production team as they head to the editing suite for cutting, editing, post production, then the small task of re-shoots. December may seem a long way away but for Jackson and Co it will come too soon, but fingers cross we will have a few more production blogs to look forward too as well.As mention in his brief facebook post Comic Con is next for Peter Jackson and The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey, this will be his first real trust when I’m sure new footage, probably the film’s first full trailer (Teaser trailer below) will be shown. If The Hobbit wins support at Comic-Con that could easily be the catalyst Peter Jackson wants but This Is Middle Earth, need we say anymore?! So are you ready for the Giant spiders of Mirkwood (yes Old Shelob’s lot), Dwarves signing, dragons , shapeshifters, wargs and the smelly orcs? Of  course you are!

Tom Cruise ala Jack Reacher now has a rival on it’s release day as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will now arrive in UK&Ireland December 26th, what better Christmas present can a cinephile ask for?! The film stars Sir Ian McKellan, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving and Andy Serkis with new cast of Richard Armitage, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Billy Conolly, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch , Aidan Turner, Evangeline Lily and Barry Humphries
