Who said, adults can’t enjoy animation? Curzon Film will be releasing Oscar nominated Robot Dreams, today take a look at the charming UK Trailer.

The animation comes from Spanish filmmaker Pablo Berger (Blancanieves), based on Sara Varon’s graphic novel of the same name. The film is set in 1980’s New York and tells an uplifting, visually engaging tale. Following a loveable dog who lives alone and decides to build himself a robot companion.

This is a dialogue free film with many themes such as friendship. Looks like it has plenty of easter eggs cinephiles and pop culture lovers will love…

From Curzon, ROBOT DREAMS is an Oscar-nominated, captivating animation from director Pablo Berger (Blancanieves / Snow White, Abracadabra and Torremolinos 73) adapted from Sara Varon’s acclaimed graphic novel of the same name.

The film is nominated at the 2024 Academy Awards for Best Animation Feature after rounding out 2023 with wins for Best Animated Feature at European Film Awards, the Special Jury Prize at Animation is Film Festival and the Annecy International Animated Film Festival (where it won the Contrechamp Award award for Best Film) after its debut in Cannes.

It’s a heartfelt story that follows DOG, who lives alone in Manhattan who decides to build himself a robot companion. With striking visuals and a beautiful score, the uplifting tale plays out in 80’s NYC and explores themes around friendship, loneliness and happiness. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach. Will they ever meet again?
