Horror comedy series set for release in the UK on SKY
Parents jokingly like to call their kids ‘little monsters’, in Sky’s upcoming horror comedy The Baby might be more than cuteness! Sky have released the the first look Trailer for eight-part Sky Original horror comedy series. That promises a darkly funny, raw examination of motherhood, from the perspective of a woman who doesnโt want to be one.
The series stars actor and comedian Michelle De Swarte (The Duchess), from creators Siรขn Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer (Chernobyl). De Swarte plays Natasha whose life implodes thanks to the unexpected arrival of a baby, things take a dark turn as the infant is a little devil!
Synopsis | Michelle De Swarte stars as 38-year-old Natasha, who is furious that her closest friends are all having babies. But when she is unexpectedly landed with a baby of her own, her life dramatically implodes. Controlling, manipulative but incredibly cute, the baby twists Natashaโs life into a surreal horror show. As she discovers the true extent of the Babyโs deadly nature, Natasha makes increasingly desperate attempts to get rid of it. She doesnโt want a baby. But the baby definitely wants her.
The series also stars Amira Ghazalla (The Rhythm Section) as Mrs. Eaves, the 70-year-old enigma who has spent the last fifty years living out of her car and seems to be everywhere the Baby is, and Amber Grappy as Bobbi, Natashaโs younger sister, a childrenโs magician who would love nothing more than to be a parent, to give love and to receive it.
The series also stars Amira Ghazalla, Amber Grappy, Patrice Naiambana, Sinรฉad Cusack, Shvorne Marks, Isy Suttie, Tanya Reynolds, Karl Davies , Divian Ladwa, andย Seyan Sarvan.
The Baby will air on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOWย in the UK and Ireland, sometime later in 2022.
