Watch UK Trailer For Famed Musical Dear Evan Hansen
I’ll admit when it comes to musicals, especially recent ones I’m clueless. I do know Dear Evan Hansen is one of those musicals very much loved and today Universal Pictures release the UK Trailer for the cinematic version!
As I said this is a fairly new musical, released only in 2015. It stars Ben Platt reprising his role of Evan Hansen a deeply troubled teenager looking for understanding in the social media age. Anxious and isolated at high school and life all thanks to the suicide of one of his friends.
The musical when it debuted on Broadway divided critics all thanks to the subject matter. Despite this the musical won 6 Tony Awards with plenty of highly original catchy songs, you can see why it was also popular. The songs in this film come from Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman).

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Wonder), the film is written for the screen by the show’s Tony winner Steven Levenson with music and lyrics by the show’s Oscar®, Grammy and Tony-winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman).
The fantastic cast also includes Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Nik Dodani, Danny Pino, Colton Ryan, and DeMarius Copes. This film is directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Wonder).
Dear Evan Hansen will be released in UK and Irish Cinemas from 22nd October.
