Watch The Uplifiting UK Trailer For Edie Starring Sheila Hancock

Nearly a year since its Award-nominated World Premiere at 2017 Edinburgh International Film Festival, We get the UK Trailer for Edie.

Starring Sheila Hancock as an old woman attempting to recapture her youth after the death of her husband. An inspiring tale backed by a moving performance by the leading lady.

Arrow Films have picked up the UK and Irish distribution rights and today we get that first look at the trailer accompanied by the film’s poster.

Meet Edith Moore (Sheila Hancock) an elderly woman, who in the aftermath of the death of her controlling husband, decides to fulfill a life-long dream and overcome a lifetime of bitterness and resentment. At the tender age of eighty-three, Edie sets out to try and capture a little of the magic she had as a young girl by climbing a Scottish mountain. Against her daughter’s wishes, she heads to Scotland and employs Jonny (Kevin Guthrie – Dunkirk, Whisky Galore!) to help her prepare for the gruelling climb ahead – which sparks an unusual friendship.

The story is a tale of triumph over adversity as Edie embarks on the adventure of a lifetime, set against the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.

Down below is the film’s official poster and you may notice a very familiar name on it, The Peoples Movies. As Edinburgh Film Festival is one of our local film festivals, Andrew McArthur caught the films giving it a five star rating. Calling the film ‘truly charismatic’, describing Hancock as ‘sublime’.

Well done to Andrew for his rating inclusion on the poster, not just once but also his own site too (Culture Fix)!
