Watch The Unsettling UK Trailer For Black Bear

Vertigo Releasing have released the UK Trailer for upcoming indie darkly comedic thriller, Black Bear. Starring Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott, things get rather strange as well as unsettling in the name of art.
The film made it’s world premiere at 2020 Sundance Film Festival directed by Lawrence Michael Levine (Wild Canaries, Gabi on the Roof in July). The film has slowly became a festival favourite and still covering a few festivals now before it heads to general release.
The film mixes up comedy, drama and psychological thriller, with Plaza looking the stand out from those early reviews. She plays a washed out filmmaker who heads into rural surroundings for some much needed solace. In her retreat their is an trouble couple who escape the city, what transpires is a game of desire, manipulation and jealousy.
This may come across as philosophical, which it is. Slowly the trio’s relationships start to blur and morph as you question what might be reality and fiction. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, what it does do is don’t judge the trailer on face value…
At a remote lake house, a filmmaker plays a calculated game of desire and jealousy in the pursuit of a work of art that blurs the boundaries between autobiography and invention.
The cast also includes Christopher Abbott, Sarah Gadon, Alexander Koch, Paola Lázaro, Lindsay Burdge, and Jennifer Kim.
Black Bear will be released in the UK and Ireland on Digital Platforms from 23rd April.
