How To Build A Girl (2019)

After making it’s European Premiere closing the Glasgow Film Festival, How To Build A Girl is finally getting it’s UK Release.

Today Lionsgate Films UK have announced the film won’t be heading to UK cinemas but directly to Amazon Prime. We also get the film’s UK Trailer and if your a fan of Caitlin Moran, this one will tick all the boxes!

Beanie Feldstein aka Jonah Hill’s little sister, film the charts the journey of teenager Johanna Morrigan (Beanie Feldstein), who reinvents herself as Dolly Wilde, the fast talking music critic.

The film is an semi-biographical film with elements of the film based on Caitlin’s own life. The no nonsense attitude, funny, sarcastic tones and proud feminist views are all in this UK indie. It will be smiles all around and hopefully for young women a slice of empowerment for you to achieve your own dreams…

Itโ€™s 1993, and thereโ€™s only one way for a curvy, bright, funny, working-class sixteen year old (Beanie Feldstein) to break out of her tiny, crowded house in Wolverhampton, and go on the somehow noble sex-quest she desires โ€“ to reinvent herself as swashbuckling, top-hat-wearing rock critic Dolly Wilde, and explode all over London. The only question is – was Dolly Wilde the right girl to build?

The film also stars Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones, JojoRabbit), Paddy Considine (Journeyman, Pride), Chris Oโ€™Dowd (Bridesmaids, Moone Boy),Emma Thompson (Sense & Sensibility, Saving Mr Banks), Sarah Solemani (Bridget Jones’s Baby, Him & Her), Laurie Kynaston (England Is Mine, Cradle to Grave), Joanna Scanlan (Pin Cushion, Notes on a Scandal), Arinzรฉ Kene (The Pass), Frank Dillane (In the Heart of the Sea), Tadhg Murphy (Guerrilla) and Ziggy Heath (Spies of Warsaw).

The film was originally getting released early July. But thanks to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic dates change and so do how you watch the films. How To Build A Girl will be released now on Amazon Prime Video from Friday 24th July.
