Watch The Powerful UK Trailer For Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value

Today the family is in the spotlight today after Goodbye June. MUBI have just released a new powerful UK Trailer for Joachim Trier‘s Sentimental Value.

The expectations are getting higher when it comes to the Scandinavian filmmaker. After the success of The Worst Person In The World, this one looks like the perfect follow up to his previous film. Following those family values, relationships, an introspective study which could be very close to Trier’s own heart. It’s also going to be Norway’s submission to 2026 Oscars.

Sentimental Value stars Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning , Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Anders Danielsen Lie. After the death of their mother stage actress (Reinseve) reunites with her sister to reach out to their estranged father. One time renowned filmmaker (Skarsgard) who happens to be making a film about his family, which pushes his grown up kids to cpnfront their pasts.

Synopsis | Reinsve plays Nora, a successful stage actress who, along with her sister Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas), reunites with their estranged father Gustav Borg (Skarsgård) – a once-renowned film director planning a major comeback with a script based on his family. When Gustav offers Nora the lead role, which she promptly declines, he turns his attention to Rachel Kemp (Fanning), an eager young Hollywood starlet primed for her big breakthrough. With their fraught dynamics made even more complex, Nora, Agnes and Gustav are each forced to confront their difficult pasts. 

Sentimental Value will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 26th December.
