The film recently made it’s world premiere at Raindance Film Festival to critical acclaim. Many critics commenting on the film’s atmosphere and a story that challenges your moral compass. Asking how far would you go for a loved one in the name of saving their lives.
The film also marks Cyrus Neshvad‘s directorial feature debut, who was Oscar nominated for short The Red Suitcase. Like many filmmakers that start in short films several filmmakers do eventually step into feature length films.
In Child, we meet 2 desperate parents who find themselves running out of time to save their sick son. They question how far would they go to sacrifice to save him? When they step over the line of morality, they find themselves trapped in a nightmare that every move comes with a greater price.
Whilst the film may not exactly call itself a horror film, it looks like this thriller will tiptoe into the genre. Which looks to give it the edge and may ask you, who is the ‘monster’?
The film stars Malik Zidi (Oxygen), Brigitte Urhausen (Fils), Lydia Indjova (Sunny Beach), Anne Klein (The Roaming) and Dmytro Yaroshenko (L’été de Jahia).
Synopsis | With their young son running out of time, Anne and Greg are willing to sacrifice everything for one last chance to save him. But after crossing an unforgivable moral line, they find themselves trapped in a nightmare where every choice demands an even greater price.
Child will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 2nd October.
