Man dressed as a beaver in Hundreds Of Beavers coming to UK in July Sleepy Skunk

Someone said to me “all good things come to those who wait“. In 2023 Mike Cheslik‘s Hundreds Of Beavers made it’s debut at Fantastic Fest and ever since travelled the many (50) film festivals worldwide. Today Lightbulb Film Distribution announce next month it will arrive in the UK.

You can call this a labour of love for the American indie filmmaker, costing around £150,000. A man versus nature tale that also pays homage to the silent age slapstick comedies. Even with that brief description it’s not 100% definite description, it’s one you just have to see yourselves. At 96% Rotten Tomatoes it’s worth a look.

The film stars Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, Olivia Graves, and Doug Mancheski. Hundreds Of Beavers we find ourselves in the 19th century, supernatural winter epic. A drunken applejack salesman must go from zero to hero and become North America’s greatest fur trapper by defeating hundreds of beavers.

Lightbulb Film Distribution‘s Sales & Acquisitions Director, Peter Thompson commented…”We are thrilled to be bringing Hundreds of Beavers to audiences in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Mike, Ryland and the rest of the team have created something truly joyous. The film is lovingly crafted, bursting with creativity and, above all, side-splittingly funny.”

A slapstick frostbitten battle between a drunken applejack salesman and diabolical beavers – hundreds of them – who stand between him and survival.

Hundreds Of Beavers will get a UK and Irish cinema release from 9th July. They will also release the film in New Zealand and Australia, possibly 9th July too but not clear. Not sure how wide of an release it will be, you may have to check you local listings to find a screening.
