This winter the story of revenge begins. Sony Pictures Releasing has unveiled the gorgeous UK Trailer for Mamoru Hosoda‘s Scarlet that ‘bends time’.

Outside of Studio Ghibli when it comes to internationally renowned anime, Mamoru Hosoda’s films tick the boxes. Oscar nominated Mirai and more recently Belle, Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time have all been universally recognised.

Scarlet follows a sword yielding princess who tries to avenge her father’s death in a war torn medieval kingdom. Failed in vengeance expecting to awake in the after life she meets a compassionate man from modern times. Teaching her there is life beyond revenge.

The main Japanese voice cast includes Mana Ashida, Masaki Okada and Kôji Yakusho.
