The wait is nearly over! We are now finally in the last month of the countdown until the premiere of Season 7 of The Walking Dead. This time next month we will finally know who Negan Killed! Will it be one or the rumoured two? Will it be the comic book death of Glenn could Abraham be the second? The rumours are rife but Season 6 finale ‘Last Day On Earth‘ left an mammoth void of frustration, seeing the the show get some of the worst reviews in it’s 6 year History.
As fans clamour for every piece of info, footage and imagery for the upcoming Season 7 , AMC the network that airs the show Stateside has revealed the season’s Synopsis…
Up until this point, our characters have lived through conflicts… Disease, hunger, scores of the undead, tragedy, betrayal, and unthinkable loss. Through this, they’ve become formidable. Powerful. Unstoppable.
To start season seven, that power is taken away. They had found safety and stability. They had created a home. They thought the world was theirs. They thought they knew the world. They were wrong.
The first half of season seven sees our group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression. Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his control, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don’t.
Other characters are unaware of what’s happened, but have become separated from the group either by incident or choice – they will learn that they can’t escape this new turn of their world, either. This half-season is about these characters starting over.
The overall theme of the season is beginning again. The world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s bigger and it’s even more dangerous.
So Season 6 was merely a transitional period from fight for survival from the walkers to a safe haven but now the world has gotten bigger the dangers have changed too. The walkers are still there but now we have new colonies, gangs with their own politics, tribal wars are on the cards. Negan has his mucky hands over our heroes what about those in Alexandria? At the looks of the footage they may have to go on the start over, as they don’t seem to know the ‘new agreement’ with Negan.
Whatever going to happen, The Walking Dead could potentially last as long as Star Trek, according to AMC CEO Josh Sapan. Speaking at a recent conference he stated the show “has incredible long life left in it, and could run for many, many more years”.
“(Star Trek) came and went three times,We do think that we have a franchise (The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead)that is one of the rare franchises that you occasionally come across in what we do for a living.”
The Walking Dead Season Seven will premiere on Fox Channel UK on 24th October (23rd in USA) airing 9pm.
