Wait, Robert Pattinson was in Marty Supreme?

Mickey Barnes aka Mickey 17 (Robert Pattinson)

Robert Pattinson quietly appeared in Marty Supreme, according to director Josh Safdie. In conversation at London’s BFI Southbank, Safdie revealed that the Batman star indeed has a small, secret role in his latest blockbuster (via Variety).

No one knows this, but that voice — the commentator, the umpire — is Pattinson,” Safdie said. “It’s like a little easter egg. Nobody knows about that.…He came and watched some stuff and I was like, ‘I don’t know any British people.’ So he’s the umpire.”

Pattinson’s exact appearance occurs near the beginning of the film. The actor’s voice can be heard when Marty (Timothée Chalamet) plays Hungarian champion Bela Kletzki (Géza Röhrig) in the British Open table tennis semifinals. Pattinson and Chalamet are no strangers, appearing together in 2019’s The King.

The Dune star himself recently won the 2026 Golden Globe for Best Actor (Musical or Comedy), amongst other awards for his leading performance. Marty Supreme, also starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin O’Leary, has received universal praise.

Pattinson will appear in four films this year, including Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three, the latter of which will reunite him with Chalamet once again.
