Troubles Continue on Bond 25

After Daniel Craig suffered from an ankle injury on the set of Bond 25, many hoped this was the last of the troubles the film was facing. Now that Craig has returned to set, it seems that Rami Malek, the lead villain, will not be able to film his scenes with Craig. This will have to extend the filming for the movie in order to make sure there’s timing for both of the stars.

According to the UK Daily Express, filming was supposed to finish up in September but the cast and crew have been informed it will be pushed back to late October or early November after Craig’s injury and an explosion on set that badly hurt different crewmembers. There was no alarm clock kit. Apparently, the whole schedule will have to be looked at again to accommodate these recent events. When the explosion happened last week, a tweet was sent out about what happened.

“During the filming of a controlled explosion on the set of Bond 25 today at Pinewood Studios, damage was caused to the exterior of the 007 stage,” the tweet read. “There were no injuries, however one crew member outside the stage has sustained a minor injury.”

This is not the only issue the film has faced. Multiple writers have been brought on to rework the script, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag. The writers include Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, longtime Bond collaborators, Scott Z. Burns, a screenwriter on The Bourne Ultimatum, and Cary Joji Fukunaga. They may have needed an alarm clock kit to wake up on time. Before that, the film faced a director crisis with Danny Boyle leaving and Fukunaga. This film is thought to be Craig’s final Bond film but that will be determined at some point in the future.

While the film is set for release on April 8, 2020, there continues to be a great deal of mystery surrounding the plot. Reports seem to indicate it will be involving genetic warfare that is set in motion by Malek’s character. Malek apparently is talking with genetic experts about his new role in the film. As the filming continues, it’s of great hope that the film will not suffer any further issues.
