Transformers 4 Confirmed Surprise Suprise Michael Bay Directing!

So are we surprised? No. Are we shocked he’s back to direct film 4? No. Late last night Paramount Pictures have confirmed Transformers 4 will be made with a June 29, 2014 release date with Michael Bay directing and will be a reboot of the whole franchise too.
When you look at the income Michael Bay’s has brought to Paramount it was no surprise they would pursue the director to make more as the franchise is a cash cow for the studio. Michael Bay and Transformers franchise is a little like Peter Jackson and The Lord of The Rings scenario both film makers have been with the projects from the start and when talk of bringing new directors onboard didn’t sound positive so if your going to do it at all may as well as do it yourself!
The news first broke when the franchises producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura spoke to MTV who confirmed the news but also the news the film will be a reboot in similar lines to Marc Webb’s Amazing Spiderman, but who, what, the new film will contain they don’t know yet. The interview also solidified the confirmation that Pain And Gain will be Michael Bay’s next project.
โYeah Michaelโs gonna direct and itโll be releasing in the summer of 2014. Weโre excited and I think the challenge there is we really are gonna do a reboot, and what thatโs gonna be we donโt even know yet.โ
He was also asked about cast, returning cast and also about Jason Stathamย been involved.
โWell I mean again itโs hybrid. Itโs not the wayโIโm not involved with Spider-Man but what I perceive Spider-Man to be is a redoing of the whole thing, [Transformers 4] is not. Itโs an evolution. Thereโs still continuity thatโs going on, and yet thereโll be a lot of new cast. Whether thereโs anybody from the [original] cast, we donโt even know yet. But the truth is, itโs gonna be a whole new story. The characters that would certainly come along would be Optimus and Bumblebee Iโm sure.
No, itโs so silly. Weโve gotta get a story first. You canโt pick characters until you have a story.โ
If there’s anyย returning characters we could see John Tuturro’s character returning instead of those (Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox) some would love to see returning he could be the connection between the first three flicks going into the fourth one.ย As for what ‘new’ we can expect i’m sure the internet will be flooded with gossip and rumours until something official comes which we know is a while yet with Pain And Gain first on the Agenda for Michael Bay. If you were going to get the Baymeister backย there had to be some compromise and this April he will finally get that personal project up and running which at the moment has Dwayne Johnson and Mark Whalberg connected.
