The summer is now over and we’ve entered the last qaurter of 2010 and this is us now building up for the 2011 Oscar ceremonies and when Oscar hopefuls start to push there marketing to get those golden nominations. One of those movies hoping to be in the nominees is Tyler Perry‘s FOR COLORED GIRLS.

The movie is based on the play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf by Ntozake Shange from 1975 (my birth year) and the movie is a poetic exploration of what is to be black and a female in this troubled world and there stories are actually a series of 20 poems telling stories of love, abandonment, domestic abuse and no matter what colour of skin you are the movies issues relate to women is some way.

The movie does have a star ensembled cast of Janet Jackson, Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose.

So what do you think could this be the movie that gets Tyler Perry some Oscar success? No Uk/Irish release date yet but the American release is set for November 5th.
