Below is the trailer for Neil Jordan’s ONDINE and its long overdue.The news of the movie has been out since the summer of 2008 and like the character of the story mermaid it became a bit of a myth, dissappeared of the ends of the earth never to be seen until now. So what’s it all about?

It star’s Ireland’s favourite badboy Colin Farrell a recoving alcoholic Irish fisherman Syraceuse whose life is transformed after capturing a beautiful looking woman who he believes is an mermaid. His Daughter Annie believes she is and Syraceuse falls madly in love with her. This maybe seen as a classic style fairytale but it has an dark twisted ending.

This is an chance for Colin Farrell to prove himself and has no better co -star than his current girlfriend and mother of his second child Alicja Bachleda who plays Ondine. Its beautifully shot cinematography and music from Iceland’s Sigur Ros give the movie an enchanting but haunting feel as well.The movie has been written and directed by Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles director Neil Jordan and stars Stephen Rea, Dervla Kirwan and Alison Barry.

No word yet on a UK or Irish release date by Magnolia Films has picked up the ditribution for USA and the movie is going to get an limited release June 4th. I dont know if the trailer does the movie any justice sometimes when you the movieyou do get an completely different view, anyway tell us what you think.
