Days after the first poster lands online and on the eve of Iron Man 3 release Marvel’s Phase 2 second film Thor:The Dark World has it’s first trailer looks to continue the ‘epic’ theme.

For Thor:The Dark World Marvel’s favourite Norse God Thor (Chris Hemseworth)finds himself once again defending the measly humans against the might of the evil Malkeith (Christopher Eccleston), leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, who wants to plunge all into darkness. In order to stop Malkieth Thor must ask his half-brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to help!

Kenneth Branagh’s Thor film was an surprisingly entertaining film but now Game Of Thrones director Alan Taylor a man familiar with the world of fantasy we assume we’ll in safe hands. If you enjoyed London been blown to smithereens you’ll enjoy this trailer as it falls victim to another evil tyrant, plenty of action on show here and there’s even a suggestion of a darker grittier story shinning through too a theme which is big at Marvel.

After the success of Marvel Phase 1 it sometimes can be tricky to keep the momentum going into the next part but after Iron Man 3 promotion plus now Thor sequel promotion it now looks like Marvel will excel above. This is great news for fans of the first film but also comicbook film fans in general as they strive to get rid of the campy feel to a more realistic feel. We’ll leave the campness in this one to Tom Hiddleston‘s hairstyle which looks very WWE ala 1980’s minus the spandex!

Thor:The Dark World  will be arriving in UK&Ireland 30th October  (8th November USA) co-starring Natalie Portman,Stellan Skarsgรฅrd, Idris Elba,  Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
