Things Get ‘Dark and Sinister’ In Full Verity Trailer
There is no light where we’ll going with this one in psychological thriller in Verity. Sony Pictures have released the full Trailer and this one will be ‘dark and sinister’
Been a good few years for Colleen Hoover (It Ends With Us, Regretting You, Reminders Of Him) with her books being adapted for the big and small screen. Some may argue the quality of the books are superior to the films, could that be about to change with this one?
Obsession drives this thriller, which a renowned writer and her ghostwriter clash. Verity Crawford is struggling to deliver the pages, her assistant uncovers something disturbing in the writers notes.
The great thing about trailers, they tease, they can also giveaway the whole plot. This new promo teases something ‘Hitchcockian’, dark and a little naughty. It could deliver that or go down The Housemaid route, something cheesy and laughable.
Michael Showalter (The Eyes Of Tammy Faye) directs Verity which stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Brady Wagner, Asel Swango and Daniel Echevarria.
Synopsis | Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, this seductive, psychological thriller follows renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway) and Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity. After Lowen uncovers what appears to be Verity’s chilling autobiographical notes, she wrestles with the disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity’s husband Jeremy (Josh Hartnett), and finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession.
Verity will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 2nd October. In the U.S the film will be released the same day by Amazon MGM.
