Lea Seydoux ‘Hides Secrets’ In Gentle Monster First Trailer
You know what they say about secrets, no matter how deep you bury them they always come back to haunt you. Secrets will hurt your close ones like in the official Trailer for Psychological thriller Gentle Monster and Lea Seydoux tries to hide them.
The film comes from Austrian filmmaker Marie Kreutzer, whose last film was Corsage starring Vicky Krieps and as her countries Oscar entry back in 2023. Her latest film debuted back at Cannes Film festival to critical acclaim and next month set to play at Toronto.
Gentle Monster follows concert pianist Lucy (Lรฉa Seydoux) whose life is shattered when the police raid her home. She now must protect her son and confront how little she knows her husband after he is accused of an unspeakable crime.
The film also stars Laurence Rupp, Jella Haase, and French screen legend Catherine Deneuve.
Synopsis | From director and writer Marie Kreutzer (Corsage, Austriaโs entry for the 95th Academy Awards), Gentle Monster tells the story of concert pianist Lucy (Lรฉa Seydoux), who has just relocated her family to a country house hoping to ease her husband Philipโs (Laurence Rupp) severe burnout. Before they have a chance to set up their new home, an early morning police visit tears their life apart. Trapped between the man she loves and the fear of what he may have done, Lucy must face the situation alone as her world unravels. With a cast that includes Jella Haase alongside the legendary, Academy Award nominee Catherine Deneuve, Gentle Monster asks what we do when someone we love turns out to be someone we never really knew.
Gentle Monster will be shown in select UK and Irish cinemas from 30th October. Before it heads to Netflix on 18th November (UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand).
