To achieve and conquer the impossible you need to dream big and This October Joseph Gordon-Levitt will walk the impossible in The Walk. After yesterday’s vertigo inducing new UK trailer today we have a host of Featurettes that go behind the scenes of the film.
The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit, and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible: an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.
In the first video ‘The Man, The Dreamer‘ we take a look at Philippe Petit’s inspiring story of how his walk went from an “impossible” dream to reality.
In ‘Robert Zemeckis Experimental‘ Robert Zemeckis discusses how he brought Philippe Petit’s experience of being on the wire to The Walk, offering a new perspective on the event.
‘Twin Towers‘ we take a look at how Philippe Petit’s walk was an homage to the magnificent towers, and how this is portrayed on screen.
In ‘Meet The Team‘ we see the planning for the wire walk required a highly organized team. This vignette takes a look at this group and the cast playing them.
This week The Walk will make it’s World Premiere at AFI New York Film Festival, with the film arriving in UK&Ireland on 2nd October, limited Release, with full release on 9th October. The film co-stars Charlotte Le Bon, Ben Kingsley and James Badge Dale.
