World Trade Towers became iconic symbols for the wrong reasons, however  26 years before their destruction they became iconic, for The Walk.Next month Joseph Gordon Levitt will dream big as he brings true story of wire walker Philippe Petit‘s 1974 ‘stunt’ achieving the impossible: an illegal wire walk of The Towers

The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit, and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible: an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.

As in what the outcome of Petit’s stunt it’s in many books, be on youtube but also backdrop of an Oscar winning documentary Man On A Wire directed by James Marsh. It was an unbelievable stunt to pull off when you see what safety net where in place, none. This near 5 minute trailer is focused on IMAX, which  will deliver the best feel to the film bringing those fears you may have if your scared of heights. It’s taking advantage of why IMAX was made for giving us the feel we’re on that small tightrope with Petit, getting our hearts pounding! Plenty of tension but plenty of story to go around as The Walk seems to be based around the story and the build up to the crazy stunt. Now as for the accent, that’s a story for another day  so don’t let this put you off seeing this.

The Walk will be release in UK&Ireland via IMAX (& limited cinema release) on 2nd October with full release on 9th October. The film co-stars Ben Kingsley,Charlotte Le Bon,James Badge Dale.
