The Ugly Stepsister UK Trailer Teases ‘Bridgerton Body-Horror’ Tale

What if Bridgerton was directed by Coralie Fargeat? Think Emilie Blichfeldt‘s Nordic body horror The Ugly Stepsister. Vertigo Releasing have dropped the UK teaser Trailer, teasing a sinister twist on the classic fairytale.

The film stars Lea Myren, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, Flo Fagerli, and Ane Dahl Torp.

The Ugly Stepsister is a sinister twist on the classic Cinderella story, we follows Elvira (Myren) as she prepares to earn the prince’s affection at any cost. In a kingdom where beauty is a brutal business, Elvira will compete with the beautiful and enchanting Agnes to become the belle of the ball.

Last week we got the U.S version which we described as if David Cronenberg directed Cinderella. Both descriptions are perfect for this film, even one early review calling it “The Substance For Disney Adults“.

The Ugly Stepsister will be released in the UK and Irish cinemas from 25th April. If you live in the U.S IFC Films will release the film on 18th April.
