In 1940 a classic short 8 minute animation called Fantasia was born it featured a famous animated Mouse called Mickey as a wizard’s apprentice, roll on 70 years that little animation has inspired The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Below is an behind the scenes featurette which has a look at how one of movie’s classical scenes of the naive apprentice with the magical Broom scene was brought to life and how Fantasia inspired the modern day live action version which will be out August 11th (uk & Ireland) and July 11th USA.
synopsis:Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé.
