Studiocanal have released a new official UK Trailer for The Railway Children Return, sequel to the classic 1970 family film The Railway Children.
In a era when many films targeted to families is superheroes, big action blockbusters, it’s refreshing to see the release of family film that’s set to deliver old fashioned adventure.ย Jenny Agutter returns as her iconic character Roberta โBobbieโ Waterbury, still living in Oakworth. She meets three kids sent from Salford next to Manchester by their mother, evacuated at pivotal part of the second world war. What starts as respite becomes an adventure for them when the meet an injured American solider whom they try to help.
Very uplifting story with plenty of fun as well as emotion…

Inspired by one of the most beloved British family films of all time, THE RAILWAY CHILDREN RETURN is an enchanting, moving and heart-warming adventure for a new generation. 1944 โ As life in Britainโs cities becomes increasingly perilous, three evacuee children โ Lily (Beau Gadsdon), Pattie (Eden Hamilton) and Ted (Zac Cudby) Watts โ are sent by their mother from Salford to the Yorkshire village of Oakworth. There to meet them on the train station platform are Bobbie Waterbury (Jenny Agutter, reprising her iconic role in the original film), her daughter, Annie (Sheridan Smith), and grandson Thomas (Austin Haynes), and with their help the evacuees are soon settling into their new life in the countryside. When the children discover injured American soldier Abe (KJ Aikens) hiding out in the railyard at Oakworth Station, they are thrust into a dangerous quest to assist their new friend who, like them, is a long way from home.
The cast includes Beau Gadsdon, Eden Hamilton, Zac Cudby, Sheridan Smith, and Austin Haynes. Along with Tom Courtenay, and John Bradley.
The Railway Children Return to UK and Irish Cinemas from 15th July.
