The Nature Of Reality Tackled In A Glitch In The Matrix UK Trailer

It’s a question that has been around since the dawn of philosophy. What if our world and everything in it isn’t real? Red pill or Blue Pill? Hot off the press from it’s World Premiere at last weeks Sundance Film Festival, Rodney Ascher‘s fascinating doc A Glitch In The Matrix , today we check out the UK Trailer.

Documentary filmmaker Rodney Ascher tackles this question “are we living in a simulation?” with testimony, philosophical evidence and scientific explanation in his search for the answer.

Ascher’s range of topics of his previous films have intrigued us, from the back story of The Shinning and it’s Room 237. The Nightmare his study of sleep paralysis and the experience of those who suffer from this terrifying condition. The film documents those who believe like Keanu Reeves Neo we are just part of computer simulation ran by some unseen force. It discusses the implications if we really do live in that false reality, trippy fascinating stuff whatever you believe.

What if we are living in a simulation, and the world as we know it is not real? To tackle this mind-bending idea, acclaimed filmmaker Rodney Ascher (ROOM 237, THE NIGHTMARE) uses a noted speech from Philip K. Dick to dive down the rabbit hole of science, philosophy, and conspiracy theory. Leaving no stone unturned in exploring the unprovable, the film uses contemporary cultural touchstones like THE MATRIX, interviews with real people shrouded in digital avatars, and a wide array of voices, expert and amateur alike. If simulation theory is not science fiction but fact, and life is a video game being played by some unknowable entity, then who are we, really? A GLITCH IN THE MATRIX attempts to find out.

Fresh from its world premiere at Sundance, A Glitch In The Matrix  is released by Dogwoof today (5th February 2021) on VOD platforms and Dogwoof  On Demand .Followed by its DVD and Blu-ray release on 10th May 2021.
