The Lord Of The Rings Series With Title To ‘Rule Them All’

LOTR_ The Rings Of Power Title

A new beginning begins later this year when the long awaited The Lord Of The Rings Series finally arrives online. After several years of teasing us, unveiling the cast but not their roles today Prime Video tease us even more with the title…The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.

When Peter Jackson created the first trilogy of films, they focused on destroying the one ring to rule them all. The Hobbit trilogy was all about how Bilbo Baggins found that ring along with the Dwarves fight. So going by the series title The Rings Of Power we maybe looking into Middle Earth’s second age and the forging of the 20 rings. Divided between the elves, dwarves, humans, and the Dark Lord Sauron. Will this series dive into that secret ring Sauron created secretly hence we’ll see his rise to power? Turning the human ringer bearers into the Ringwraiths that hunted Frodo.

Check out the title announcement video.

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power which was filmed in New Zealand (season 2 coming to UK) is the most expensive TV Show ever made. Amazon were the biggest bidders winning with a deal over ยฃ200 ($250 US) Million. Despite this astronomical amounts of money, it seems they didn’t have the full material from JRR Tolkien‘s estate hence this series will be a prequel.

Below is the official Synopsis for the series, could it change slightly as we get closer to release time?
Amazon Studiosโ€™ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earthโ€™s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkienโ€™s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkienโ€™s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Nรบmenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

The series will include Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Cรณrdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Peter Mullan,ย  Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman. I’m sure more cast to be announced.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power will premiere exclusively on Prime Video (in various languages) weekly from 2nd September.
