Its nearly a year ago we were getting really excited about The Hobbit movie with Guillermo Del Toro directing and MR LOTRย  Peter Jackson producing. Then everything went wrong ,financial problems with the studio, not set date to start filming and Del Toro dropped out, then Peter Jackson then stepped in to take over, the strikes in New Zealand then the fires at the studio and more recently Peter Jackson landing in hospital. The question many people asked is this film ever going to be made? Yes and MARCH 21ST is finally the first day of filming for the long awaited prequel and now the cast has been chosen all we have to do is now wait!

The One Ring broke the news of the day the movie will start filming in stone street studio’s in Miramar as well various locations in and around New Zealand.

THE HOBBIT stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Ken Stott, Graham McTavish, James Nesbitt, Aidan Turner, Jed Brophy, Cate Blanchett, Andy Serkis, Mikael Persbrant, Sylvester McCoy, and Elijah Wood. The JR Tolkien story is actually only one book however due to the size of the book it will be created into 2 movies both to be made in 3D, first movie set for a December 2012 release with the final part one year later in december 2013.
