The First Trailer for The Drama Teases a Wedding Spiralling Out of Control
The first trailer for The Drama has arrived, and it quickly makes one thing clear. This is not a feel good wedding movie. Starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, the film looks set to turn pre-wedding nerves into something far darker.
The trailer opens on a seemingly happy couple. Zendayaโs Emma and Pattinsonโs Charlie are engaged, in love, and surrounded by friends and family as their wedding week begins. But it does not take long for things to start feeling off. A single conversation appears to trigger a chain reaction, and suddenly the celebrations are filled with tension, silence, and mistrust.
What makes the trailer so effective is how quickly it shifts tone. One moment feels intimate and familiar, the next feels unsettling. There are uncomfortable dinners, strained conversations, and moments that suggest a secret has surfaced from Emma that Charlie cannot ignore. The trailer never reveals exactly what that secret is, but it is clear that it threatens to dismantle the relationship entirely.

The film is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, who previously made Dream Scenario. Borgliโs style is already evident here, with the trailer leaning into awkwardness and emotional unease rather than big dramatic reveals. The supporting cast includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Zoรซ Winters.
Early reaction online suggests the trailer has done its job. Viewers are already speculating about what could cause such a dramatic shift and praising the chemistry between Zendaya and Pattinson. The mystery at the centre of the story appears to be the filmโs main hook, and the trailer is careful not to give too much away.
The Drama is set to be released in cinemas on 3rd April. If the trailer is any indication, this is a wedding story where the biggest question is not whether the couple will make it down the aisle, but whether they should at all.
*4th April 2026, EFD Films are releasing the film in the UK& Ireland, and released the UK version which you can enjoy above.
