A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, MINARI follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, MINARI shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
With arresting performances from Steven Yeun (Burning, Sorry To Bother You, The Walking Dead), Han Ye-ri (My Unfamiliar Family), Yuh-jung Youn (Sense8) and newcomer Alan S Kim, MINARI is intimate, beautifully composed and empathetic cinema of the highest order.
The film also stars Will Patton, Noel Cho, Scott Haze, Eric Starkey, and Esther Moon.
Minari is set to be released in the UK & Ireland hopefully in cinemas from 19th March. Next month 24th February, the film will open 2021 Glasgow Film Festival. Tickets will go on sale from 18th January and next Thursday 14th January the festival’s programme will be launched.
