The Beekeeper 2: Jeremy Irons To Return

Jeremy Irons has been confirmed to return to play Wallace Westwyld, a former CIA director serving as the head of security for Danforth Enterprises, in the Miramax and Amazon MGM Studios’ Jason Statham-led action sequel The Beekeeper 2, according to Deadline.

The first film followed Jason Statham as Adam Clay, A retired military operative, who now serves as a Beekeeper in a secret organisation that protects the world like bees in a hive. It grossed $162.6 million at the global box office and has a 92% Verified Hot rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The sequel, which is due to start production in the fall, will see Statham return to the lead role with Irons now confirmed to return too.

The sequel will be directed by Nobody 2‘s Timo Tjahjanto and written by Kurt Wimmer and will be released worldwide by Amazon MGM Studios, as well as being produced and financed by Miramax. Producers on Beekeeper 2 also include Statham via his Punch Palace Productions banner, Chris Long via Longshot Productions, and Kurt Wimmer. Jonathan Glickman, Thom Zadra, and Ali Loewy are executive producers. The film will be overseen by Spencer Ela.
