If you’re looking forward to the Freddy Mercury/Queen Biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, you’ll want to jump onboard for Rocketman. The film has been described as theย  ‘uncensored human story’ of Sir Elton John‘s breakthrough years. Paramount Pictures has released the first look image of Taron Egerton unrecognizable in costume.

Fans of Elton John music will recognize the iconic look. The big glittery glasses, the winged boots wearing the gold bomber jacket, not forgetting John’s red hair.

If you’re looking for a straight-up biopic you will be looking in the wrong place. This film is been described as a ‘fantasy musical’ following the singers rise to frame in his early days. The songs will be the songs that expressed the important parts of his life at the time. Bodyguard star Richard Madden will play Sir Elton’s manager John Reid with Jamie Bell as lyricist Bernie Taupin and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s Mother.

โ€˜ROCKETMANโ€™ is an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton Johnโ€™s breakthrough years, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Rocketman will be directed by Dexter Fletcher and is set for a May 2019 UK and Irish cinema release.
