Sunday Short Theatre – XIETY (2020)
You don’t myself to get into what Covid-19 Lockdown and restrictions are doing ourselves. Agree or disagree with these restrictions, our mental health has ripped, torn apart abused by the powers to be. Some of us are coping many not and in this week’s Sunday Short Theatre, XIETY we share a journey of anxiety.
The film comes from Carlos and Karen Torres, with Karen taking the lead role in this film. It’s inspired by his own own journey with anxiety. An internal battle she has dealt with and struggled with for many years and kept it hidden for a very very long time.
Sometimes we know people and never expect theme also struggling with mental health. Just like anything never judge them, never think you know them or think you know all the answers. Be there for them. This short film isn’t exactly about mental health during lockdown, but Mental Health in general. Anyone suffering thanks to Lockdown will related to the film.

XIETY explores the ways anxiety may feel for those who suffer from it through a visual journey in Valโs mind- XIETY. Val struggles to stay mentally present during a night out with friends. What may seem like a simple, fun, and relaxing night for others is physical and mental torture for Val. Her anxiety quickly builds up to a panic attack and she finds herself stuck in her mental world of Xiety.
