Sunday Short Theatre – The Other Morgan (2021)
Hands up if your life might not be the greatest or most exciting in the world but your happy? Life might be repetitive your job might not be everyone’s cup of tea, your also a only child. Well you thought you were and in this weeks Sunday Short Theatre, The Other Morgan, there’s another!
This week’s short film comes from Alison Rich who directs, produces as well as stars as Morgan. Her name maybe very familiar to many folks as she’s established writer and actress in comedy. The Goldbergs and Saturday Night Live are two of the big shows she’s involved and her talents certainly shine here.
So what’s this all about? Morgan Yardley(Rich) works as a exterminator, her life is nothing special but she likes that life. She’s a happy ‘regular’ girl that life is about to turn upside down when she learns before her father passes, there’s another Morgan.
Comedy can take things to unrealistic levels in the way action films do in stunts. This 14 minute film really does feel ground, full of depth and a premise very relatable to many. Your mind explodes in excitement at the same time fear riddles you that things are going to change as you may have to share.
Despite the two Morgan’s sharing a lot of similar things, height wise they are different. This unearths a whole can of worms like self-confidence and when another family member appears we just compare, compare, compare. Fantastic stuff…
Morgan Yardley works as an exterminator and loves her unremarkable life, until she discovers there’s another Morgan.
This short also stars Mary Holland, Jim O’Heir, and Chloe Wepper, Marques Ray, Zora Bikangaga, Mariah Bess, Mike Lane, Dan Trabulus, Lucy Smith, Kaitlyn Tanimoto.
